Mental health is defined as a state of well-being in which every individual realizes his or her own potential, can cope with the normal stresses of life, can work productively and fruitfully, and is able to make a contribution to her or his community. “Health is a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.“
“Today’s Student is tomorrow’s employee. By contributing to the Students health it helps to prevent the weakening of study ability and strengthen the ability to cope in work life. Haaga-Helia works to lower the threshold of Welfare services’ availability. The University of Applied Sciences offers services that go in line with recommendations to cope with mental abilities, such as academic psychologist and academic priest.”

What happens in November?
In November Helga focuses solely on Students mental health. The subjects is very sensitive and personal, but we strive to lower the negative stigma around it by raising awareness of mental health.
We will go around campuses and with that add knowledge about the subject all around Haaga-Helia. We will record and share material on Helga’s platforms to all to see if possible.
